Out of the Square
Never one to stick to the rules, Chester, enjoys walking the less trodden path. He has a philosophy when it comes to d'Arenberg wines;
"Up until bottling, our winemaking is deadly serious, from then on its all about having fun"
The first in this range of wines, The Love Grass Shiraz, brings to life this saying perfectly. First and foremost this is an impressive McLaren Vale Shiraz made with all the traditional methods of foot treading, basket pressing and small patch fermentation- that's the deadly serious part.
The fun side comes from the quirky name (see the tasting note for more details) and the small percentages of other varieties that join the Shiraz.
Furthermore, Chester wanted a slightly different label for this cellar door and restaurant specific wine, so he turned to his wardrobe for inspiration. The colourful border around the label is in fact a scan of one of Chester's favourite ties!
Stay tuned for more 'out of the square' additions to the range. We hear murmurs in the cellar of a rosé and maybe a new white, so we'll keep you posted.
