This is the view the cellar door staff look at every day so it’s no wonder they are so cheerful. Enjoy tasting a variety of our beautiful wines whilst taking in the picturesque view from the cellar door decking. You can also take the opportunity to taste wines which complement the delicious food from the adjacent, award-winning d’Arry’s Verandah Restaurant.

Cellar Door & Events

"If you can’t find a wine that you like at d’Arenberg, then you’re not looking hard enough. The range is huge, the quality high, the innovation and energy endless. Good service, an excellent view, and traditional wines made of shiraz, cabernet, grenache and chardonnay, but also a host of other interesting stuff such as Roussanne, Tempranillo, Souzao, and lots more. It’s the heart of the McLaren Vale, past and present."
-Gourmet Traveller Wine Magazine's-Top Cellar Doors, July 2005

Our Cellar Door

Welcome to d’Arenberg’s tasting room and Cellar Door Sales area, where you can come and try a range of our wonderful wines, and talk wine talk 'til your heart's content with our knowledgeable and helpful Cellar Door staff.

The Cellar Door is housed in d’Arenberg’s restored 19th century homestead, which incorporates Cellar Door, d’Arry’s Verandah Restaurant and some of our offices, all overlooking McLaren Vale, the Willunga Hills and the Gulf St Vincent in the distance.

Our Cellar Door Manager Janice Matthews has been overseeing cellar door operations for over 12 years. She has had a wide range of experience in the hospitality game and yet still manages to keep her cool!

Janice and her team will be more than happy to show you through the wines and give local advice on the best places to stay, eat and enjoy your time in McLaren Vale.

Come and See us!
Though we do not give tours round the winery here at d’Arenberg (something to do with personal liability insurance…) we are sure that the Cellar Door tasting area and d’Arenberg wines, the views over McLaren Vale, the beautiful grounds and the temptations of the fine food next door at d’Arry’s Verandah will be more than enough to satisfy.

A bountiful region

So much more than just wine

locally produced olives

As well as producing fantastic wines, the McLaren Vale region is well known for its bevy of talented artisan food producers.  These producers include (and this is not an exhaustive list because there are new, small producers getting organized every day…) olives, olive oils, vinegars, cheeses, almonds, marron (freshwater crayfish) ,venison, fruits, herbs and flowers.

Our Cellar Door at d’Arenberg  sells some of the locally produced foodstuffs, including bottled sauces, home roasted spices, olive oil, almonds and d'Arenberg wine-infused chocolate truffles.

The Willunga Farmer's Market that is held every Saturday at nearby Willunga, is a gastronomical treat; you might even run into one of the chefs from d'Arry's Verandah, sourcing some new season fruit or vegies!

For further details about the wonderful food and produce of the region please visit www.fleurieufood.com.au

If there is any guilt generated as a result of your d’Arenberg and McLaren Vale indulgence, you can walk off the excesses at one of the region’s fantastic beaches – just ask the team at Cellar Door and they will give you our local tourist map and send you off in the right direction for a swim and some exercise. The local beaches are some of the cleanest and most beautiful in Australia and the proximity of d’Arenberg and McLaren Vale to them will enhance your visit just that little bit more. You won’t want to leave!
